“Be content with what you have, rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” Lao Tzu
How do you define success? I am asking that question because I recently realized that my definition needed a good looking into. With some introspection I noticed that each achievement that I made was briefly celebrated and then it was on to the next thing. First I thought it would be successful to be a published author and I was thrilled when that happened but no sooner had I gotten used to that idea that I was redefining the term by being concerned about how many books I was selling, the reviews, awards won or lost etc…I am sure you get the picture. I took a step back and realized I never allowed myself to enjoy the “successful moment” because I was too busy redefining it. I decided no more of this and since then I do my best to “embrace the journey” and celebrate all the steps along the way.
