“Just the Beginning…” Susan Dintino
Today is my dad’s birthday. He passed away 10 years ago. Right after he died I wrote this poem. Dad suffered a great deal in his last year with a disease that was never diagnosed. I felt this poem expressed how I felt when he gracefully left this planet. Love you Dad!!

Just the Beginning…
The angels knocked upon his door
And said,
Your suffering’s done
It’s time for you to fly away
And dance upon the sun.
Our wings will enfold you
With the deepest love,
We will escort you
To the light and God above.
Our dear Dad smiled
And his soul took flight
A shooting star across the sky
In the darkest night.
